A little about me

I help individuals who are looking to foster personal growth by accepting themselves and unlocking disruptive thoughts that cause anxiety and depression. I believe we all have a unique experience that we each bring to this world. We all are searching for a feeling of peace within our everyday lives, and through the counseling experience we can begin to move in that direction. My approach to therapy is supportive and calm, allowing you space to explore your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors in a collaborative environment. During therapy, we can gain insight about where symptoms originated, while also working to cope with and mitigate distressing feelings in the present.

Therapy can allow you to have a healthier well-being and to establish deeper connections with yourself and others. I think we all have the potential to change, grow, and have meaningful relationships at any stage of life. This includes accepting and processing any negative thoughts we encounter. Although therapy might seem intimidating at first, the process can be a source of encouragement and support as you are heard and seen without judgment.

In my free time, one of my favorite places to be is in nature. I love to hike or explore new places on foot. As a mom, my time away from clients typically includes cooking, art projects and playing basketball. I am currently a Master’s level student of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at George Fox University. My coursework has included behavioral based theories, group therapy, human development and substance abuse. I will be graduating in the spring of 2025. At Dr. Sanderson and Associates.
