A little about me
I help older teens (16+) and adults with anxiety, OCD, trauma, and mood disorders to get unstuck and cultivate meaning in their lives. I am passionate about closing the gap between research and practice. My approach is collaborative; you sit in the driver's seat while I provide a map informed by research and my clinical experience.
I have extensive training in exposure and response prevention (ERP), the gold standard treatment for OCD and anxiety. I also draw on acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and emotionally focused therapy. I've completed Gottman Method Couples Therapy Levels 1 and 2, and I enjoy working with couples from a perspective that is solutions-focused and attachment-informed.
I pay careful attention to systemic contributors to problems. In order to have true liberatory potential, I believe that therapy must take into account societal dimensions of oppression and view the individual as holistically as possible. In this sense, I strive to create a new therapy for each client.
I received my MSW from Portland State University after getting my BA in Psychology from Vassar College. I am currently a Clinical Social Work Associate, supervised by Tara Sanderson, PsyD, and Anne Thompson, LCSW.
In my free time, I love hiking in the mountains, running, and playing the piano. I enjoy long discussions with friends about everything from standup comedy to moral philosophy.
