A little about me

I help teens and adults find their best way forward during times of change, challenge, and self-exploration.

I believe each person possesses internal strengths that can be utilized to manage tough times and aid them in finding their authentic self.

Each life stage is full of its own unique challenges. For many, conflicting obligations create tremendous pressure and unrealistic expectations. Sometimes everything feels so overwhelming that hopelessness sets in. When these times come into your life, know that you are not alone. I will be there with you through the pain, processing, and planning. Together we can discover who you are, where you shine, and what areas in your life you would like to change. I will work alongside you to identify the practical support you need in terms of programs and resources. I will be a second set of eyes to help you find new ways of viewing your situation. Life is hard but it can also be full of growth, love, and purpose.

I have specialized training not only in gerontology but also in play therapy. This allows me to work with a broad range of people and bring a refreshing dose of fun and levity into my counseling approach. I also offer sandtray therapy, finding it a creative way for people of all ages to express themselves when finding the right words for thoughts and feelings is difficult. This can be especially true for people with neurological and cognitive differences. My hope is that when you are with me you feel safe, comfortable, and like yourself.

I see the therapy process as serving two purposes. First, we will work through any immediate problems to bring about your sense of control and wellbeing. Once you feel things are manageable in your life, we can move into a deeper exploration. I can help you cultivate a greater understanding of your own strengths/weaknesses, thoughts, emotions, actions, and ultimately the values that guide your life.

I am currently a Master’s level student of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at George Fox University. I am under supervision from my university and Chelsey MacGregor.

In my free time I love going to escape rooms with my family. Each time I go to a new city, one of the first things I do is check to see if there are any new rooms to explore. I also like being in nature, playing my tongue drum, all types of museums, and doing silly things like the chicken dance.
